All these changes encouraged numberless of entrepreneurs to start handicrafts and workshops.

The last quarter of 17th century start of industrial revolution was not good for most of British people due to the highly unequal distribution of wealth, lack of health care centers, high pollution and serious struggle by the poor people in the first phase of industrial development. But in the start of 18th century the industrial revolution gave betterment in people living standard like dispensaries, better lightening, better food at work all were the gifts of urbanization.

Modern airplanes, gasoline, medicines and computer all are the results of the struggle of past two centuries. These have come though combinations and advancements of the major inventions in that era which developed the modern economy and society called industrial revolution. Industrial Revolution is not the change in technological or mechanization change of a single industry or sector but it is the fundamental change in economy and society. This revolutionary change completely changed the way of living of human beings. It is the modernization of every aspect of living. Industrial revolution is based in the 17th century when Gorgery King ordered for scientific discoveries and experiments to find new ways of earning, when Britain was facing bad time in economy and employment. British economy was more commercial and complex than others courtiers.

Like other countries Britain economy was also dependent on agriculture. It was sufficient to meet the domestic demand. Brewers, weavers, leatherworker, millers and even the black smiths were being supported by agriculture. Institutionalization was yet to happen in the England.

The industrial revolution starts almost in the last quarter of the 17th century and ends in 1900. It was the time when the world was developed with the industries and civilizations & urbanization.  After the first Industrial revolution it comes the second which is more famous with the name of electric and electronic revolution which is not part of this essay. The Industrial revolution can be estimated by the sentence that an investment made in knitting machine in 1750 became the cloth mill in the 18th century.

It is a general assumption that from 16th to mid 18th century government of country was busy to ease the mechanics and solve the market problems. At this time, the only industry which was developed was textile which was dependent on economic conditions of foreign countries. Exports of textile good, pepper, sugar, coffee were not enough for favorable balance of trade but British ships always turned it favorable which were supporting the whole England trade and trade between South Africa and West Indies used to be done through ships owned by the British merchants and traders.

One of the greatest innovations was the combination of steam engines and iron machinery. The a reciprocating engine which had given the power to operate machinery boosted the industrial manufacturing efforts. It wasn’t very famous but was a rapidly expanding technology which was improving gradually. It gives a growth to the industrial towns.  In the year 1764 Lancashire spinner, James Hargreaves accidently notices that overturned spinning wheel which continuously turns with the spindle in vertical manner vertical rather horizontal. This idea made hi think that several spindles can be worked simultaneously by a wheel in this position. Then he developed a version with eight spindles for his own use which increased the volume to the eight times than before. This new jealous the local spinners who smashed his home and the new secret was exposed.

After the First World War women and children started to find work. Joining the workforce by the women changed the standard of life living. This all increased demand and by introducing new fashions of goods and services. It was the time to move from handicrafts to large factories and mills. After that time town halls and mills were established, mechanical institutions were developed, warehouses started to grow and many small towns became like cities.

In the start of the eighteenth century there was a huge expansion all around there was a boom in the economy but in mid 18th century faced some severe crisis (like strikes took to depuration).  After the world war it was reconstruction around and high flats and big building started to build up.  The progress towards industrial revolution was slow till 1830. In the next 50 years the industrial progress just flourished. Without any doubt the sharp progress was due to the struggle of past century but it was a sharp change.

In the last quarter of 17th century technology started to flourish. The new technology of the time developed gigantic ships and vessels. This improved the trade, information sharing, traveling and opened the new ways for industrial development. The new technology improved and set up new weaving techniques which further established the textile industry which was a symbol to create industries of other sectors. Crop brothers were the founder of new methods of iron assembling. This invention helped to make numerous typed of machineries. These new machineries were the beginning of new industrial sectors.

Because of the helpful technology people were able to find cheaper ways manufacturing with cheaper of inputs like coal and steam engines which increased the profits. Academic Knowledge made a huge contribution to industrial revolution. Technology also added newer ways to Music. It introduced newer musical equipments & innovative ways of compositions. It supplied fresh practices of art like new paints; new painting methods and this art added a fresh beauty to the buildings, choreography, maps and many place in Britain.

The first reason for being first to be industrial nation was that England was more technological advanced and going for more innovations than any other country of the world. A bit more glamour in England contributed more changing of styles & innovations which exaggerated the first phase of industrial development.

During the infancy age of industrial revolution, British textile sector was on the road of high development. A major reason for this textile industry development was the cotton which was used to import in extremely cheaper rates from the subcontinent (where British was in empire that time). It was the finest quality of cotton which produced finest results for the Britain textile industry. British was able to manufacture good in such a cheap costs that no other country was able to compete the British prices. Even the several locally made products of foreign nations were costing more than the British price of goods.

Despite the industrial revolution provided the numberless benefits to the human beings but it also was responsible for awful things. Because the development was going both in rural and urban areas, it created many gaps of immorality and differences of big and small. Because earlier there was no filtration system of industrial waste and smoke. So, it created problems of health which given birth to many diseases. There was lake of health care centers and too many of the problems were strolling around. People were involved in alcoholic drinks and most of the people did not school their children.

There was a huge inequality of income. British lord mostly used to make salves to workers. They used to buy people with a little amount and take work only on the remuneration of the food.

As discussed above about the steam power, it boosted the coal industry to a great extent. As iron industry was advanced mechanically it enhanced technology of construction mills. The demand for iron and exports started to the foreign nations as raw material as well as finished and semi finished machinery products. The technology also heightened the construction techniques. Two of the great advancements made in the first industrial revolution that resulting led to a vast growth of the canal system and the second was later inventions about railway system. Railway system spread all around the England and transportation of goods became easy and all of the industries were vastly benefited by this advancement.

The expanding industrial revolution forced several companies to get merged with other companies in the same sector. These amalgamations created big corporations which pushed the industrial revolution to even faster pace. These large corporations were using the steel cheap steel, sailing ships and chemical industries had given a rise to the British economy. These were the corporations which started the usage of electricity not only in manufacturing but also other parts of the life. They also started the tradition of using internal combustion engines fuelled by coal and petroleum. These engines were economical, reason of high amount of production units and mass production was the result of these engines.

Foreign trade in the first industrial revolution swelled very sharply. The volume of foreign trade thus tripled comparing 1870 to first half of first quarter of the nineteenth Century 1914, although (again) most of the activity occurred among the industrialized countries, or between them and their suppliers of primary goods or their new markets. The repetitive demand of corporations of the capital for foreign trade established the banking system in the Europe. This banking system supported the foreign trade and increased the further volume of trade.

The industrial revolution not only made the social and economic impacts but it also seriously affected the government conditions. Government made special business laws, shipping laws and trade laws and legislations. Problems coming due to the revolution were also to be solved by the government. There was change in the every aspect of life which created many problems to handle. Royal Government of England made departments to handle each and every aspect.
